Web Development Toolkit
The university's new Web content management system, Ensemble CMS, is now available to the campus community. Learn more > |
This toolkit exists to facilitate and promote consistency in visual identity, navigation, and usability across websites university-wide. By adopting the standards, guidelines, and procedures detailed within, our websites benefit in several key areas, such as:
- Identity: A unified vision of what each website should look like means users can tell, at a glance, that they are on a Virginia Tech website.
- Usability: Websites must be made quick and easy to use, navigate, and understand for the widest audience possible.
- Consistency: Familiar look, feel, and functionality allows end users to instantly know how to navigate and use a Virginia Tech website.
Virginia Tech seeks compliance with its Web Guidelines and Procedures across all websites associated with the university.
We invite you to explore the toolkit using the navigation in the left column.
Why use standard templates?
Virginia Tech’s website templates give Web developers across the university an easy way to build pages that have the look and feel of the Virginia Tech website.
Development blog
Web Communications maintains a Web Development Blog to share news, discuss developments, and generally keep the university community informed of our ongoing efforts.
