News and Information supports University Relations primarily in the areas of media relations and internal communications. In addition, communications professionals in eight academic colleges and the divisions of Research, Student Affairs, Outreach and International Affairs, and the department of Human Resources develop communications plans and programs to enhance the public’s understanding of and appreciation of university faculty, students, and programs.
The unit is responsible for the daily management of Virginia Tech News and its several elements (website, Daily E-mail, VT Mobile, weekly printed version for employees without e-mail or Internet access, and the annual University Planning Calendar).
