Marketing and Creative Services is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Virginia Tech brand is followed, protected, and promoted with all university stakeholders, audiences, communities. Communicating the positive attributes of the university helps improve the reputation of the university and how the brand is perceived. The Virginia Tech tagline, Invent the Future, captures the spirit and direction of the university.
University Publications provides editing, writing, graphic designing, art directing, publication consulting, and copy editing services to its clients, generally at university and college levels. The unit produces more than 250 publications annually, including magazines, displays, banners, annual reports, recruiting and marketing materials, brochures, folders, advertisements and other promotional materials, newsletters, and university development materials. The unit also operates the Visitor Center, oversees and writes copy for the campus building biomarkers, and provides historical research and/or writing for the university.
