Dec. 5, 2007 Former CIA Director James Woolsey came to Virginia Tech this week in his new role as a member of the National Commission on Energy Policy. His appearance at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Blacksburg, Va. was part of the university's continuing Energy and Environment Speaker Series. His topic was energy security. Woolsey talked about the great northeast power outage in the summer 2003, when a power line mishap in Ohio caused a cascade of outages that eventually left 50-million electricity customers without power.
