Video: Researchers study disease transmission

Scientists in Virginia Tech’s Vector-borne Disease Research Group, formed in 2005 and supported by the Fralin Life Science Institute, approaches the problem of infectious disease from a diversity of perspectives.

The group includes 16 researchers from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Science, and College of Natural Resources and Environment, and many of them study mosquitoes to understand disease. Their discoveries and the laboratory techniques developed to probe them have changed the way disease transmission is viewed across the world.
