Peter Vikesland is an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Tech. His research involves the application of fundamental chemical principles to the study of natural and engineered systems. A present focus is on the use of nanotechnology for the detection and remediation of environmental contaminants. Parallel ongoing studies also seek to examine the potentially damaging impacts of nanotechnology on environmental systems.
