Jan Wilson of Blacksburg, director of alumni relations and career services for the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech, will be a torch bearer for the Paralympic Games in London. Wilson competed in the 1980, 1984, and 1988 Paralympics, winning 12 total medals and breaking world records, one of which still stands today.
A swimmer since the age of eight, Wilson lost her leg above the knee to cancer when she was 20 years old.
